Krista L. Allison J.D.

Krista L. Allison is running for the Ohio House of Representatives, District 49, because she believes real leadership means stepping into the arena, showing up, taking responsibility, and doing the hard work on behalf of the people you serve.

A proud Stark County native, Krista’s roots run deep. She is a graduate of Perry High School, Baldwin Wallace University, and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Alongside her husband of 27 years, Adrian, she has built a life grounded in faith, family, and service and a commitment to making her community stronger for the next generation.

Krista spent a decade in Columbus serving Ohio families, including as an Executive Director at the Ohio Department of Education. There, she worked closely with legislators and the Governor to advocate for public education and policies that support children, families, and communities. That experience gave her a clear understanding of how state government works and how to make it work better for everyday Ohioans.

Rather than stand on the sidelines, Krista chose to bring her experience back to Stark County. She returned to lead the Stark County CARE Team, supporting at-risk youth, and later directed the Office of Student, Family, and Community Support for Canton City Schools. In every role, her focus has been the same: people first, solutions forward, and accountability through action. She is an Institute for Educational Leadership Policy Fellow, Ohio Early Childhood Leadership Fellow, and a member of Leadership Stark County's 35th Class Signature Program.

Krista’s leadership is rooted in faith and guided by the principles “to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly”. She lives out these values through service across Stark County, serving on community boards (YMCA of Central Stark Ohio, Greater Canton Martin Luther King Jr. Commission, Stark County Library Foundation), volunteering with local food ministries (Crystal Park UMC, Canton Outside of Canton), and leading civic initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods and families (Stark County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, the Kent Area (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated).

A resident of Jackson Township, Krista is the proud mother of two daughters, both of whom are graduates of Canton McKinley High School. Her leadership as a parent advocate and supporter of student programs reflects her belief that investing in young people strengthens the future of our community. Her advocacy for students and families isn’t theoretical; it’s personal.

Krista believes that, as Theodore Roosevelt said, the credit belongs not to the critic, but to the one who is in the arena whose face is marked by effort, who errs, who strives, and who never stops caring. As your representative in Columbus, Krista will serve with courage, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. She is All In for All People and she will always be Fighting for Us.
